This historic mansion in Germantown has seen some of the bloodiest battles in history. This was the grounds of the Battle of Germantown that took place in 1777 where many were killed. The home was built from 1763 to 1767 for Benjamin Chew. The Chew family continued to live in the home for several generations, until 1972. It is now said to be haunted with several spirits.
Considering the number of soldiers who died here, many believe the site is home to many of their spirits, including that of a headless elderly woman in search of her head. It is said that she lost her head when a soldier severed it.
