The area is also known as Brandywine River is where the Battle of Brandywine took place. The American Army, led by Washington fought the British Army, led by General Howe in September of 1777. Washington believed the area was secured and he and his troops were ready for the British, however, the British had better tactic to invading the area and out maneuvered Washington. Today the area is haunted by the ghost of horses and soldiers who battled here. Some even report hearing sounds of battle.
