The Hotel of Horror and Altered Nightmares are both indoor, walk through Haunted House attractions featuring live actors and paranormal activity housed in the 200 year old “abandoned “ Pocono Mountain resort once called The Lake House Hotel, Saylorsburg, Pa. Open rain or shine with a covered wait line and free parking. Don’t let the weather scare you. That’s our job! Our revamped ticketing process gives you less time in line and more time in the attraction. The Hotel of Horror and Altered Nightmares Halloween Attractions are both housed inside the legendary Lake House Hotel intertwined and breathing next to one another, sharing organs and a circulatory system like conjoined twins. The sinister subconscious of the Hotel of Horror feeds off the dark energy that stains the lumber skeleton of this once pristine mountain resort, while Altered Nightmares celebrates the chaos that grows stronger as each soul travels through its decaying halls and abandoned rooms.

  • I Screamed More Than I Have Ever Screamed In My Life

My husband and I visited Hotel of Horror after reading about it on Buzzfeed. Although nearly two hours from our current residence, the amazing reviews seemed like a great opportunity to road trip and check it out for ourselves. The whole experience is best defined in two words: brilliantly terrifying. In the "Nightmare" portion, I must have screamed over three dozen times and not just quick screams, actual guttural screams resulting from being so completely scared. Each room was incredibly well done with amazing attention paid to detail and actors so scary I thought twice before continuing on to the second part. (Those clowns...Dear GOD those clowns...) I highly, highly, recommend Hotel of Horror for those wanted to be legitimately scared but in a way that is very well done. Looking forward to returning next year!

  • Had me RUNNING out!

This is one of the best haunted attractions I've been to. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to be legitimately scared, and not just wanting to walk through a house with the typical cheesy props. The groups were spaced out so surprises weren't ruined. In addition, I was talked into going into the museum thing afterwords...but I was glad I did! I actually found a lot of things interesting, though I usually wouldn't care about it. It was worth the few extra dollars, definitely. Every member of the staff we interacted with was friendly and helpful, no disappointments at all! Well worth the money and the drive there!

  • Edgy

These guys really push the limits more than most. They do more than scare you. They disturb and unsettle you. Great atmosphere. It really stays with you.
