  • The scariest event of my life

Put my sister up in one of the rooms after an Eagle's preseason game so she didn't have to drive back to north Jersey by herself at night. Made sure she was settled in and left. Heard a strange sound. Went back inside just to be sure she was alright and I saw the monstrous beast straight across from me in the hallway. I was shocked. My heart started pounding. Had no idea this place was haunted. I couldn't move. I was frozen still with my mouth dried up. It didn't move either. Just stared back at me. Hideous thing. Couldn't make it out very well cause it was dark, but reminded me of the monster on the wing of the plane in Twilight Zone. Big ugly hairy beast. I couldn't believe what was happening. Do I attack the thing with my bare hands? Try to find a knife. Shout at the top of my lungs hoping a neighbor might call the police? But, I couldn't even say a word my mouth was so dry. My sister heard something too and flipped on a light. It was me in a mirror.

  • Super cool/scary experience

I stayed 1/12/13. I hadn't been able to recall the name of the place until today when it came up in my memories on FB. I was with my parents, visiting Pennsylvania for my uncles 70th birthday. We had to no prior knowledge of the place being haunted before we got there. But when I walked in, I immediately knew. I could sense the energy and every hair stood up. So I asked the staff and they said it was confirmed haunted by 2 paranormal groups. Ive always been fascinated with the paranormal, therefore I asked to stay in the most haunted room. If I recall correctly, we had rented rooms B and C. It was room C that they said was the most haunted. It was at the end of a hallway, the room on the right. My parents stayed in room B across from me. So before we left for the party, I said out loud to the room, "I know you're here, I can sense you. I am leaving for the evening and could you please do something obvious so that when I come back, I'll have known it was you and it will prove it?" I made sure to do a spot check of exactly the way things were placed in the room and left for the evening. When I came back, there had been a chair in the corner with a free standing reading lamp next to it. The lamp shade was cocked to the side at a 70% angle. The lampshade was perfectly straight when I had left. I checked it out and realized it took quite a bit of elbow grease to move it, theres no way it could've fallen like that on its own. So that was my confirmation. Let's just say it was an uneasy nights' rest. I got the feeling there was an old man watching me all night long!

  • Sentry duty

My husband & I love to visit for dinner and a stay over every so often. It's been years since we stayed over; only during our first stay did peculiar things occur. In the middle of the night we heard a chair being dragged across the floor in the 3rd floor attic above our bed. Several times during the night we heard slow, heavy boot steps going up & down the hallway. Considering it was built in 1801, we joked it was probably a Revolutionary soldier doing sentry duty. Things that make you go hmm?

  • Sensed Something Wrong

I was here, for my Aunt's birthday party years ago, as a child. The kids had their own table by the window, in the dining hall. I’ll never forget the feeling of just being extremely uncomfortable sitting there. As we sat there, there was an audible bang off the window, which made us all jump. I went to my mom and said this place is haunted. I’ll never forget my mom asking the waiter to reassure me that everything was okay, when the waiter flat-out said “No, it is haunted.” We had no prior knowledge of it being haunted, yet I called it out right away. I wanted to leave so quickly, and we never went back.

  • Strange visitor

Stayed 1 night at the inn Feb 2020. Stayed in room A. We were the only guests that night. About 11:30 PM my wife and I were laying in bed watching TV and heard a knock at door. I got up, and as soon as I turned the door knob to open the door I heard a hideous women's scream. I opened door and no one was there or anywhere down the hall. Thought is was a patron of the bar playing a prank. Also later that night after wife fell asleep, I heard footsteps walking down the Hall ?? Found out weeks later that the inn was supposedly haunted !!!.
